Polish-Speaking Health Care Aide (HCA)
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable Polish-speaking Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide in-home personal care and support to a client.
Fluency in Polish is essential for this position to support effective communication and provide culturally responsive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Supporting mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with meal preparation and light household duties
- Providing medication reminders within the HCA scope of practice
- Observing and reporting changes in the client's condition
- Completing required care documentation
- Promoting the client's dignity, independence, privacy, and safety
- Following Matani Home Care Services policies, procedures, and the client's care plan
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate fluently in Polish
- Health Care Aide certification or recognized equivalent preferred
- Experience providing home care, senior care, or personal care is an asset
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Clear Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Reliable, compassionate, patient, and professional
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a client's home
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's licence are considered assets
